WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Lance Gooden (TX-05) today reintroduced the Think Tank and Nonprofit Foreign Influence Disclosure Act, a transformative piece of legislation designed to increase transparency and safeguard American policy from foreign manipulation.
The bill, cosponsered by Congressman Tom Tiffany (WI-07), mandates that tax-exempt charitable organizations, including think tanks and nonprofits, publicly disclose contributions and gifts exceeding $10,000 from foreign governments and political parties. The bill places a particular focus on disclosing funding from the People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
