Passports

Passport demand is at a record high. Before making any definite or non-refundable travel plans, check your passport expiration date and consider the State Department’s processing times (10-13 weeks for routine & 7-9 weeks for expedited, not including shipping times). Travel.state.gov/passport

Many countries require your passport to be valid for at least six months in order to enter. Always research your destination’s entry requirements at travel.state.gov/destination before booking international travel.

Due to the Department of State’s significant backlog, Passport Agency offices are currently prioritizing certain requests. The U.S. Department of State will only recognize cases if your situation aligns with one of the following criteria:

SITUATION ONE: ONGOING APPLICATION DELAYS
- You've applied, and your Routine application has surpassed 13 weeks, or your Expedite application has exceeded 9 weeks.
- Your application has been assigned a Locator number.
- Your application's online status reads 'In Process'.
- You have travel plans scheduled within the upcoming week.
- No other congressional office is currently assisting you with your passport.

SITUATION TWO: CRITICAL LIFE-OR-DEATH EMERGENCIES
- You haven't initiated an application but need an urgent appointment.
- You possess documented evidence of the life-or-death situation (e.g., death certificate, a note from medical professionals).
- No other congressional office is currently assisting you with your passport.

SITUATION THREE: PRESSING BUSINESS TRAVEL
- Your company mandates travel.
- You have travel plans scheduled within the upcoming week.
- No other congressional office is currently assisting you with your passport.

Please note that Congressman Gooden's office can only intervene or send inquiries if your situation aligns with ONE of the above-mentioned scenarios.
