Congressman Gooden (R-TX) Calls On House Democrats to Prevent Infanticide
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Texas Congressman Lance Gooden took to the House floor this week to call House Democrats to move forward on the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Act, a bill that would require the provision of medical care to infants born alive after surviving an abortion. This marked the 21st time the request had been made by House Republicans. It has been rejected by the Democrat majority every single time.
Congressman Gooden said, “It’s absolutely revolting to me that my Democrat colleagues continue to refuse our requests to vote on this simple bill. How could you possibly oppose a measure that would do nothing but require care for newborn infants? I urge them to recognize the disgusting brutality of infanticide and take an immediate vote on this measure.”

The procedural measure was initially put on the House floor by Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy in the first week of February. House Democrats have avoided taking a vote on the bill since that time.
