Please read the following information carefully before submitting your casework request.
Are you struggling to communicate with a federal agency to get the answers you need? If so, my staff can act as a liaison between constituents and various federal agencies, including, but not limited to: the Social Security Administration, Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Department of Veterans Affairs, and more. We can inquire about the status of a case with a federal agency and seek additional information on your behalf. In some cases, we can expedite certain processes, such as passport applications. We can also direct you to relevant government resources and services. However, we cannot guarantee a specific outcome. Our assistance is limited to federal matters, and therefore, we cannot intervene in judicial matters or issues with state agencies.
We require the following information in your Privacy Release Form. Failure to include necessary information may result in delays in your request for assistance.
- Your Social Security number, if you have one;
- VA claim number for a case with the Department of Veterans Affairs
- Taxpayer identification number (Social Security number, if individual) for an Internal Revenue Service problem, etc;
- Your address, home phone number and daytime phone number (if different from home) so that we can obtain any additional information from you that might be necessary;
- Copies of any related documents or correspondence that you may have from the agency involved (scan as one document);
- Clear explanation of problem and resolution being sought.
For individuals seeking assistance with US Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS), please note and understand the following:
USCIS has clear guidelines for the processing of applications, and the criteria that must be met by an applicant for consideration to expedite can be found here: Expedite Requests|USCIS. Our office cannot ask that your case be expedited, as you must communicate the issue directly to USCIS with supporting documentation.
If you are outside normal processing times and have not heard from the agency, we are able to request information on your application. To view current USCIS Processing Times, click here.
Please keep in mind that USCIS has reported their processing times have been further delayed than usual. USCIS must fully research each case individually so that every petitioner and applicant may receive full and fair consideration consistent with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
*The USCIS receipt number is a mandatory field.
Please Note
The Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C. § 552a) requires that Members of Congress or their staff have written authorization before they can obtain information about an individual's case.
We must have your signature to proceed with this type of request. You can fill out a privacy release form electronically by clicking here, or you can call our office to receive a form to be filled out by hand.
If your issue deals with the Department of Homeland Security, you must fill out the privacy release form that can be found by clicking here. You do not need to fill out both forms if your issue deals only with the Department of Homeland Security.
