By establishing critical infrastructure and workforce pipelines in North Texas, this initiative will position the region as a national leader in semiconductor innovation while delivering long-term economic growth and resilience.

Summary: Federal funding will be used to support campus entrance improvements and signage at Brownsboro High School, as well as the repair and improvement of the Brownsboro Junior High driveway and parking lot. Brownsboro High School, located along Highway 31, currently lacks prominent signage and visual elements that reflect the pride and excellence of the campus, despite serving as a highly visible representation of the district to the broader community. Additionally, deteriorating conditions at the junior high driveway and parking areas have created safety concerns and negatively impact daily traffic flow for students, staff, and visitors.

Proposed Recipient: Town of Sunnyvale - Expansion of Collins Road
Address of Recipient: 127 North Collins Road, Sunnyvale, Texas 75182
Amount: $8,760,500
Summary: This project would reconstruct Collins Road from its two-lane asphalt section into a four-lane divided concrete thoroughfare from E. Tripp Road to Town East Blvd. This would include the construction of sidewalks, improvements to existing drainage and utility infrastructure, and additional enhancements for pedestrian safety. Collins Road is a vital transportation corridor sustaining the local and regional economy. It is a principal route for commuters, providing access to US Highway 80 and I-30, and would create long-term development opportunities and quality-of-life enhancements. Congressman Gooden awarded $6.5 million to the Collins Road project through Congressional Appropriations in FY24.
