Interview excerpt:
“The bill is not extreme at all. It requires an ID. Not even a driver’s license, but an ID. You have to prove who you are to vote. It actually expands access to early voting, it expands the days in large counties, and it expands the hours that one can vote. The only thing that’s actually taken away from what we had in the past is it’s taking away these pandemic regulations that were put in place that allowed drive-thru voting and all-night 24-hour voting. That was only in Harris County, which is where Houston is, and Democrats are going crazy that we’re not going to continue these pandemic restrictions. They didn’t seem to have a problem not continuing to wear masks on their flight to Washington, and as we move through the pandemic, I think it’s time to get back to normal.”
