Congressman Lance Gooden (R-TX) Sponsors Legislation to Reauthorize the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA)

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A reauthorization bill of the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA) was introduced with Congressman Lance Gooden (R-TX) as an original sponsor. For years, TRIA has effectively managed the risk of catastrophic damage that cannot be addressed by the private insurance market, while imposing minimal cost of coverage to taxpayers. This bipartisan reauthorization brings continuity to the critical protection our markets need.

From Congressman Gooden (R-TX):

“This bipartisan reauthorization is important to the booming North Texas region I represent. It provides assurances in a time of uncertainty and I’m pleased to support continuation of this program as our economy continues to grow.”
